We invite you to a meeting with the renowned educator Dima Zicer, which will take place on November 18, 2024, at 5:00 PM at The Lucky Pen! Dima Zicer will meet with our children and teenagers to discuss questions about engaging with the world, careers, knowledge, and oneself. We warmly welcome all our current and new students, especially children and teenagers who have recently come to Seattle because of the war. We know that you often have questions that are difficult to answer, and topics that may feel daunting to discuss. Dima is a unique educator who has personally faced bullying and harshness in school and knows what it means to be "different." We hope that meeting with Dima will help you find answers to personal questions and consider your next steps in this new chapter of life.
The meeting is organized by the "Seattle Envelopes" foundation. Dima Zicer is a contemporary educator, founder of the Institute of Informal Education and the "Apelsin" School of Informal Education. For the past twenty years, he has been involved in educational projects in various countries, including Israel, Ukraine, the USA, the Baltic States, and Russia.
Dima is the author of numerous books, among them "Freedom from Upbringing," "Practical Pedagogy: The ABCs of Informal Education," and "(NOT) Why Go to School." In his blog and podcast "Love Not Discipline," Dima Zicer addresses questions from parents, teachers, and children—everyone who values and is interested in child-adult relationships.
